About project

The “Introducing work-based learning in higher education systems of Armenia and Moldova for better employability of graduates” (WBL4JOB) project aims to enhance partnership between enterprises and higher education institutions and to increase graduates’ employability through development and implementation of supporting policy, legal framework and generic, flexible Apprenticeships Higher ducation Model (AHEM) with the ultimate aim of promoting the work-based learning (WBL) in Armenia and Moldova. 

Specific Project Objectives are

  • Benchmark analysis on main policy options of WBL, schemes and tools of apprenticeship in higher education in Europe
  • Capacity building of staff from higher education institutions, Ministries and banks’ unions from Armenia and Moldova on policies, schemes and approaches of apprenticeship
  • Development of National Policy for implementation of WBL in higher education systems of Armenia and Moldova inspired by the European practices
  • Development of AHEM for higher education systems of Armenia and Moldova including practical implementation tool: undergraduate one year apprenticeship based programme “Specialized Licence in Banking and Insurance” (SLBI)
  • Development of the amendments to national legislations to support the implementation of AHEMs in Armenia and Moldova
  • Development of university-enterprise partnership innovative schemes through piloting of the AHEMs Armenia and Moldova
  • Promoting inter-regional network for long-term cooperation between HEIs from Armenia and Moldova and invoved European countries.

The following project outputs/outcomes are expected to be sustainable after the end of the Erasmus+ programme funding

  • “Apprenticeship Policy and Implementation Toolkit” (APIT) presenting main policy options of WBL, schemes and tools of apprenticeship in higher education in Europe
  • 52 trained administrative and teaching staff from higher education institutions, banks’ unions and ministries of education involved in development of WBL/apprenticeship policies, schemes and tools, as well as development of amendments to national legisla tions
  • 60 trained teaching staff / mentors on apprenticeship-oriented teaching, learning and assessment
  • National Policy for implementation of WBL in higher education system of Armenia and Moldova inspired by European experiences adapted to national contexts and priorities for improvement of employability of the university graduates
  • 2 AHEMs, including an undergraduate one year apprenticeship based programme “Specialized Licence in Banking and Insurance” (SLBI)
  • Amendments to national legislations supporting the implementation of AHEMs in Armenia and Moldova
  • 4 equipped universities
  • Partnership agreements for activities after lifetime of the project.
